Esther Guinea is an End of Life Doula with a background in Nursing.
Whilst completing her Bachelor of Nursing, Esther worked in Aged Care as a Personal Care Worker and Enrolled Nurse and later, as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Care. She then obtained Post-Graduate Certificates in Emergency Nursing and Midwifery, along with training to provide care for emergency patients when a doctor was unavailable as a Rural and Isolated Practice RN. Most recently, Esther completed her Doula training with Australia & New Zealand’s leading training organisation Preparing The Way.
Prior to her career in Nursing, Esther had a variety of jobs in both the Northern Territory and Victoria, including working as a music instructor and a horticulturalist.
Her varied work and travel history has led Esther to value inclusivity. She supports all people regardless of age, gender, neurotype, cultural and religious backgrounds and believes everyone has the strength to follow their own path – but we don’t have to do it alone.
Esther’s calm, practical and down to earth approach enables her to encourage individuals to explore their preferences and wishes while they are living well, living with a life limiting-illness or at End of Life. In advocating for them, she provides practical, emotional, social and spiritual support and honours the individual and their family and friends at this time of transition.
